Privacy policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026. This page distinguishes the ad-free version 1.0.0 and advertising-enabled versions starting with 1.1.0, when available.
Snake Maze Escape is published by STARM, operated by Othman Lechgar (individual developer). Privacy and parental enquiries: starm.web.2022@gmail.com; telephone +33 6 62 84 70 98; postal contact: 45 rue des Saules, Apt 58, bâtiment D, 31400 Toulouse, France.
Local play and saves
No game account is required. Progress, settings, best times, the unfinished attempt and challenge results are stored on your device. STARM does not receive these saves. Challenge codes identify a stage, difficulty and rules revision, not a player. There is no online leaderboard, chat or cloud-save service. The core game remains playable offline.
Version 1.0.0
Version 1.0.0 contains no advertising or advertising SDK and does not send game events or advertising identifiers to STARM or an advertising service.
Age ranges
The app asks for an age range, not an exact birth date, name or email. Only the range is saved on this device. Before a choice and for people who prefer not to answer, advertising services remain off. Version 1.1.0 limits advertising to adults. From version 1.1.1, when available, selected under-18 profiles may receive contextual banners with Google child-directed protections, a G content limit and limited-ads treatment. They cannot receive interstitials or rewarded videos. All under-18 ranges receive the more restrictive child treatment. The exact age range is not sent by game code; under-age/child-treatment flags are sent to Google. The selector is not verified age assurance or verified parental consent.
Advertising
Advertising-enabled versions use Google AdMob and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). The app requests general-audience, non-personalized advertising without mediation through other advertising SDKs. In version 1.1.1, known under-18 profiles can receive limited contextual banners after a successful native UMP update tagged under-age; no adult consent form is shown to these profiles. Undisclosed-age profiles make no advertising requests. Banners may be displayed on menus, results and during gameplay, in a reserved bottom area separated from the board and gameplay controls. Settings, age selection and privacy forms remain free of banners. Eligible adults may receive banners, paced interstitials at natural breaks, or choose an optional rewarded continuation, after the privacy checks described below. New attempts are always free; an unavailable ad does not prevent starting another attempt.
Google and companies involved in delivering advertising may process IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device and app information, app- or SDK-related device identifiers, advertising and app interactions, and diagnostic information for ad delivery, measurement, security and fraud prevention. UMP also makes network requests for privacy checks, even if an ad is not ultimately displayed. An ad request is network activity even when advertising is non-personalized. The app does not request access to an Android advertising identifier or Apple's tracking permission. It does not request GPS location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone for advertising. STARM can view aggregate advertising performance reports in AdMob. Disabling advertising ID access or using non-personalized ads does not mean that no technical identifiers or other data are processed. For details, see Google's privacy policy and Google advertising information.
Notice for parents
From version 1.1.1, the Google advertising SDK can process IP address and technical app/device information to deliver contextual banners, provide network communications and protect against fraud. Child-directed requests disable personalized advertising, remarketing and transmission of AAID/IDFA. The app disables publisher first-party identifiers and sets Google's cookie-consent preference to false for minor sessions, requesting limited ads. This does not mean zero processing: creatives may be cached and Google may use invalid-traffic-only storage according to its limited-ads settings. The app does not collect a child account, chat, contacts, precise location or child email, and does not send local game progress to Google. No verified parental consent is collected. The arithmetic question before an external link is a navigation gate, not parental consent. Parents should review the Google privacy and limited-ad information linked here before selecting an age range. Changing the range stops ads and requires an app restart before starting a different advertising session.
Othman Lechgar at the contact details above is the central contact for parents. Parents can ask about collection, request access, correction or deletion of information held by STARM, and object to further collection. Please do not include unnecessary information about a child in a support request. Advertising services are provided by Google LLC and its applicable affiliates, including Google Ireland Limited for EEA and Swiss users, as explained in Google's privacy policy. We help route questions concerning information held only by Google; deleting a local save does not delete Google's separate records.
Retention and service providers
STARM does not keep a server-side child profile, a copy of local game saves, or raw child-level advertising identifiers and SDK event logs. Local saves remain on the device until cleared or removed, subject to operating-system backups. Support correspondence is kept only while needed to answer and investigate the request or meet an applicable obligation; unnecessary information about a child should not be included and is removed when identified. Aggregate advertising reports do not provide STARM with the identity of an individual child. Google controls the storage and deletion of the SDK information it receives under its privacy policy and retention information; its periods depend on the data and purpose. STARM does not assign an invented retention period to records it does not control. Google may process information outside your country under the transfer safeguards described in its policy.
Privacy choices
For an adult profile, UMP checks the applicable privacy requirements and presents choices where required before advertising starts. The app requests non-personalized ads even if personalization is accepted. Refusing personalization alone does not remove ads when the necessary storage permissions remain valid. Where GDPR applies, the game requires valid TCF consent for Google to store or access device information (Purpose 1 and Google vendor consent) before starting Google Mobile Ads; refusing that storage blocks advertising requests. Missing or invalid privacy signals also block requests. Outside that region, a valid UMP signal that GDPR does not apply can authorize non-personalized ads, subject to the applicable privacy choices. Technical identifiers, storage and antifraud processing can still be used when advertising is authorized. The app does not claim that non-personalized or limited ads mean zero data collection. If privacy checks cannot authorize advertising, the game remains available without ads. Eligible privacy options are accessible from CONTROLS & SOUND → PRIVACY. Changing between an adult and child-directed profile stops new ad requests and hides advertising; the app asks for a restart before restarting ad services with the changed profile. Deleting app data removes the locally saved age range and game progress. Google handles SDK data under its own policies; STARM cannot directly retrieve or delete data held solely by Google.
Device backups and stores
Your operating system may back up local files according to its settings. Apple and Google process store downloads and platform diagnostics under their own policies. Removing the app or clearing local data can remove progress; backup and restore behaviour depends on your device.
Support and children
A parent or guardian should handle a child's support requests and external links. Please do not send a child's name, photograph, contact details or other unnecessary personal information. When you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include. We use it to respond and investigate issues. Correspondence is handled through Google's email service and retained only as needed for support, recurring issues or applicable obligations. You can request access to or deletion of your correspondence at the support address; we may need to verify the sender.
This website
This support site is hosted by Google Blogger. Visiting it can send Google IP address, browser, security and cookie information under Blogger's notice and Google's privacy policy. Website processing is separate from the game. External websites, stores, email and sharing apps apply their own policies.
Your rights and changes
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal information and complain to your data protection authority, including the CNIL in France. Contact the privacy contact above for information held by STARM. Handling a support request serves our legitimate interest in assisting the person who contacted us; legal obligations may require retaining particular correspondence. Advertising privacy choices are handled separately through the in-app privacy controls and Google's applicable policies. We will update this page if the game's practices change.
